A recent analysis reveals that New York drivers pay one of the highest insurance premiums in the nation
New York News: The Citizens for Affordable Rates (CAR) released a new fact sheet today (attached), highlighting how soaring auto insurance rates are overwhelming working families, immigrant communities, small businesses, and delivery drivers across New York State.
According to data compiled by CAR, the average annual premium for full insurance in New York City now exceeds $4,000, far higher than the national average of about $2,400. For immigrant families and low-income workers who rely on minimum insurance plans, the cost remains between $1,700 and $2,700—several times that of most other states, and often more than a month's rent.
